Hyundai E&C, the women's professional volleyball team, swept past Korea Expressway Corporation to become the first team to reach the 50-point mark and consolidate its lead in the standings.


Hyundai E&C swept the Korea Expressway Corporation 3-0 (25-17 25-18 25-12) in one hour and 12 minutes in the fourth round of the 2023-2024 season V League at Gimcheon Indoor Gymnasium on Friday for its third straight win. Hyundai E&C, which has won all four matches against Roadworks this season, remained at the top of the league with 50 points (16W5L). They have the same number of wins and losses as second-place Heungkuk Life (44-16 W-5 L), which has played 21 games, but have widened the gap to six points. Roadworks lost their second straight game and remained in sixth place (19-6W, 15D).


Foreign player Leticia Moma Bassoko (31-Cameroon) led the way with 13 points, while Lee Da-hyun (23), Jeong Ji-yoon (23), and Asian quarterback Wipawee Sittong (25-Thailand) contributed 10 points apiece. Hyundai E&C dominated Roadworks in all offensive categories, including blocking (8-4), service points (10-3), and team attack percentage (53.24%-34.48%).


In the men's match at Incheon Gyeyang Gymnasium, third-ranked Korean Air (38-12 W-9 L) swept Woori Card 3-0 (25-22 25-14 25-16) to eliminate the points gap with second-ranked Samsung Fire (38-14 W-6 L), which has played one less match. Homegrown big man Lim Dong-hyuk (25) spearheaded the offense, totaling 28 points, including four blocking and two serving points. Top-ranked Woori Card (42-15, 6-6) lost its second straight game, putting a red light on the top spot.
